Dr. Trevor Nolan is an Assistant Professor of Biology and Biological Engineering at Caltech, where his lab investigates the molecular intricacies of the switch from proliferation to differentiation and the orchestration of root growth. His work leverages innovative techniques—including single-cell genomics, 3D spatial transcriptomics, and large-scale CRISPR screening—to elucidate the interplay between cell identity, hormone signaling, and environmental responses in Arabidopsis roots. He obtained his Ph.D. in Genetics and Genomics from Iowa State University in 2018, followed by postdoctoral research in Philip Benfey’s lab at Duke University as an NSF PGRP fellow.
